Admission arrangements

Our admission arrangements follow the detailed guidance for maintained community schools issued by Birmingham City Council.  Guidance on the conduct of appeals is contained in this documentation.

The arrangements have a statutory basis which says that arrangements, practices and criteria should actively promote equality.  It places upon local authorities additional requirements to promote fair access to educational opportunity for every child, to secure diversity, increase opportunities for parental choice and promote community cohesion.

Class Sizes

We are a 2 form entry Junior School.  30 places are available in each of the classes from Year 3 to Year 6 (60 places per year group).  The Local Authority organises admission on entry to Year 3.

Please note: there are currently 3 year groups that are temporary 'bulge' classes: Years 5,6 in 2021/22 and Year 6 in 2022/3 and the school will return to its normal 2 form entry from Sept 2023.

Admission Criteria in the case of over-subscription

Where there are more applicants than there are places available, we will offer places based on the following order of priority:

  1. Looked After Children (in public care).
  2. Children with a brother or sister at the school who will still be in attendance at the time the sibling enters the school.
  3. Children who live nearest to the school by straight line measurement.
  4. Should you require a place, parents should complete the relevant documentation.  This can be obtained from the School Office.
