SEND RESOURCE BASE

We are very excited to have a SEND Resource Base opening in January 2026.

The Resource Base will be for children with Autism. This will support the wider SEND system and provide 12 places to

support children who struggle, due to their specific needs, in the full mainstream system.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission process is not like it is to access the mainstream system. Children will have had their specific needs identified and assessed, culminating in an EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan). This is a formal process through Birmingham City Council's SENAR.

Once an EHCP has been through the formal process and a resource base is identified as the most appropriate setting for the child, a

consultation of a number of Resource Bases will then take place before the most appropriate Resource Base is agreed.

Please note: schools with 'official' BCC Resource Bases cannot admit children without this process being adhered to.
